I scored in Tucson! I got a box full of crystal quartz, loads of agate for special dreamcatchers, a few gifts for friends (amethyst and pendulums), a gift for myself (glass beads) and even a horn for my dad! I love the magic of Tucson and the gem stones I found!
I've been thinking of new necklace ideas that feature stones and how to use them so they are not only beautiful but secure. I woke up with an idea to use agate since it already has a hole in the center. I don't want to braid these necklaces like I do with the feathers, but have a very simplified design. I'm thinking I need to secure them around so the necklace isn't all over the place. It's a work in progress, but you can see it in its simplest form here.
I was recently commissioned to create a dreamcatcher for a friend who just lost her dad (and best friend) unexpectedly. I was honored to make something for grief, loss, healing and hope all at the same time. I decided to go with all white, including white gold tipped feathers, because they remind me of angel wings. I carefully chose the stone fluorite for its healing properties in times of challenge. It can help bring more structure in everyday life, making people physically, emotionally, and mentally prepared to overcome both small and big challenges. In times of confusion, loss or emptiness, the uplifting energies of this crystal will be a reassurance that everything’s going to be alright.
I also added two rose quartz (also known as the "love stone") stones for extra love, which everyone needs, especially in times of loss to help in healing.
This medium dreamcatcher is called Hally.
My friend Michele from M3Collections just came by and gave me this beautiful (and slightly naughty) stone called lingam. It's an egg-shaped stone made of Jasper and symbolizes the Hindu god Shiva's union with the consort Kali. It activates the sacral chakras and controls kundalini energy (which I practice regularly).
I bought these beautiful charoite stones from the Tucson Gem Show, knowing I'd make them into earrings. It was so easy, I will do that with more stones! I just love the intense purple color and can't to wear them.
I just got back from Tucson and boy, what a show! I got so many awesome gemstones, including Flourite, Chrysoprasse, Amazonite, a big box of rose quartz, a bag of crystal quartz and so much more! I can't wait to see how my dreamcatchers will evolve. Stay tuned!
It's that time of year again! I go to Tucson every year to join my sister for the JCK and all other gem shows. I'm going to stock up on new stones and crystals for my dreamcatchers. I have a new idea and looking for cut agate to create a special set of dreamcatchers. Stay tuned for photos!
Here is a big amethyst stone I picked up last year. It sits on my nightstand in my room.
My wonderful friend, Jen just gave me these beautiful Mala Beads with healing stones. She knows how I've been struggling with the death of my beloved dog, Brody last June and this was the most thoughtful gift. I will wear them daily, alongside my necklace with Brody's tag and hope the struggle gets much much easier.
